The SUN is shining!

Yee haa! Tis a much, much nicer day than it was when I last posted on here. Today we're too hot working outside with coats and and hats on and I'm in need of a nice cold drink of something. Shame I've just supped the last drop of chilled water. Off to put some in the freezer.

Yeah, nice to have the sun, but it would be nice if was cool too. 70s near 80 in March is ridiculous.

Well Mrs BC it feels more like spring down here in the Land of Engles, though how long it will last is another story!
Don't you feel sory for Darell, sweltering in that heat?

lots of wind, rain, and snow in Northern Calif. Did I hear someone complaining about warm weather? Must have something to do with that east coast humidity. I've seen a few brave souls on bikes in the weather. I always liked the way bikes seem to run better in the rain. Miss having a sidecar rig up and running...maybe that should be a new years resolution for me...any one else made any promises to themselves? Hairy Larry

Mrs BC, I thought you had been at Choc Annon and were cured, does that mean the brown paper parcels will start arriving at the Towers?

Good wee vid, but I thought you said there was loads of snow ;-)

Talking of snow I'll send you a pic of the ideal winter bike for you up there, check your in box

Well, Kwak, considering that all the snow has gone from everywhere else around here, that IS loads of snow, and it's still plenty enough to mean I have to park the van at the top gate and cart all my work stuff, plus sacks of feed and bales of hay and buckets of sheep licks up and down the drive every day. Can't you hear the underside of the poor old van getting ripped and bashed to bits on the solid chunks of ice left by people in 4x4 trucks? I had to get out and smash some of the lumps up with a heavy shovel before we could get past. Can you tell I've just got home and am in need of some food?

Your not being grumpy are you?

I know all to well what it must be like up there just now, an hopefully you'll have a 4x4 for next winter.... now theres a question what 4x4 should GBC buy?

Just got home after 28 days at sea and now he is draging me off to Italy, hope to get some pics on here when I get back,
Shirty.
p.s. what was in the lumpy card?

Now...it isn't humanly possible to forgo chocalate...sounds like you need some snowshoes and cross-country skiis ...to go with that 4x4. There is a company currently making snowmobile conversions for motorcycles.,,a track unit that bolts in where the rear wheel normally goes...and a ski for the front fork. I lucked out when I found an 87 Jeep Cherokee cheap...high mileage..but still passes Calif. smog with no problem...262,400 some miles..just heard it's snowing down to 1700 feet...I can feel that snow down here in the valley...brrr..Darrell count your blessings..ha.ha. What sort of 4X4 for Her Gorgeousness? One that Cubbie will fit into the back of, of course!
Something rugged and practical rather than a fashion accessory, so I could see her in a 'traditional' Land Rover rather than a Suzuki Vitara. Or, one of those Toyota/Izuzu/Ford pickups farmers round here drive. Plenty of room on the back for straw and Cubbies.

A Ford Ranger 4x4 with an extended cab. Cargo bed is big enough for a bike, can get bales of hay or other items in it, put things behind the seats, can tow a trailer behind and available in just about any color....just an idea for those snowy, wintery days. Highly recommended and endorsed by a Bodger:)

U N is right about the practicality of a pick-up bed. Don't need a trailer, just a ramp or a handy berm. Used to cram three dirt bikes in the back of an Datsun pick-up. And the fuel milage on the Datsun sure beat the Jeeps 6 cylinder. And it's easier to hose out hay and animal evidence from a truck bed... Hairy Larry.
